Austin Community College continues to be the most affordable college option in Central Texas. For the seventh consecutive year, the college recommended that the Board of Trustees hold tuition and fees steady. Trustees approved the proposed rates for 2020-2021 during its regular May meeting.
“Our community is facing unprecedented times and it is our responsibility to make sure our students can find an affordable and accessible path to forward their education and careers,” says Gigi Edwards-Bryant, ACC Board of Trustees Chair. “I am proud this Board is doing its part to serve our community and keep the cost of education low for our in-district taxpayers.”
ACC’s out-of-district fees and out-of-state tuition also will remain the same for the 2020-21 school year.
“We recognize the importance of keeping our tuition and fee rates level for all of our students to alleviate the financial barriers many face,” says Neil Vickers, ACC executive vice president of finance and administration. “Letting students know that the cost of going to ACC isn’t going to go up helps them make plans for the summer and fall.”
Students who live within the district support the college through tax dollars and receive lower tuition and fees. According to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, in-district students at ACC save big in tuition and fees compared with other area institutions.
