Austin Community College (ACC) implemented its new tuition payment structure for spring 2020 and the new approach has seen initial success.
"Overall, the implementation has gone well," says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. "That's a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff. We continue to work hard to support all students and help them register for spring classes."
As of January 16, the college's spring enrollment numbers show headcount is up 1.4 percent compared to spring 2019.
"While the total deregistrations have been fairly flat in comparison to years past, we consider this to be very successful for such a new approach to tuition payment," says Dr. Willie Martinez, interim vice president of Student Affairs. "We are excited to see an increase to spring headcount as of now and hope this trend continues moving forward."
The new tuition payment structure also marks the start of Same Day Pay at ACC, which requires students to pay their tuition or set up a payment plan the same day they register for classes.
The Enrollment Management Office will send out a registration review survey after the registration period to gather feedback about the new tuition payment process.
