ACC hosts information sessions for RN-to-BSN bachelor’s degree program

Austin Community College (ACC) will host two information sessions as the application deadline for the RN-to-BSN program approaches. ACC’s RN-to-BSN program is the only one of its kind in Central Texas. The program includes hybrid and face-to-face format.

“Interest continues to grow for this degree, as we prepare to welcome our 60 students in our second class,” says Pat Recek, dean of Health Sciences. “Our health partners are looking for more nurses who are credentialed at the BSN level, so we want to meet that community need.”

More than 7,500 Central Texas registered nurses are eligible for the program.

The information sessions will answer questions on finishing prerequisites, part-time options, preliminary transcript reviews, and scholarships. Session will be held:

  • Monday, March 4 | 6 - 7:30 p.m.

  • Friday, April 12 | 3 - 4:30 p.m.

Prospective students have three options for attending:

  • In person at Eastview Campus, Room 8358 (3101 Webberville Rd.)

  • Calling 1-844-621-3956

    • March Access Code: 922 765 330

    • April Access Code: 921 081 670

  • Click here for online access through Webex

“I am back to continue my education because I want to get my nurse practitioner license,” says Susan Gonzales, RN-to-BSN student. “The staff here cares. They show interest in how you are learning and how they can help you succeed. You are not just a number.”

The sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is suggested, but not required.

Applications for fall are now being accepted. Students have until Saturday, June 1, to apply. For more information about the program and to apply, visit austincc.edu/bsn.
