ACC Honors Associate Degree Nursing Program Students

Austin Community College (ACC) celebrated fall graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program with a pinning ceremony Thursday, December 13, at Eastview Campus.

Approximately 140 students were honored for completing the program. As the graduates crossed the stage, they received a pin from nursing school faculty.

"This is one of our favorite traditions. It's when we take a moment to pause and reflect upon the personal achievements of our students. Together, we honor and celebrate their individual journeys toward becoming a nurse," says Pat Recek, ACC Health Sciences dean. "Nursing is a commitment to serve your community, and in Austin, it continues to be one of the largest and fastest-growing industries."

Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to receive a license to practice as a registered nurse (RN). NCLEX pass rates for ACC graduates historically exceed both Texas and National standards.

ACC's Nursing Program also is ranked among the top in the state, making the Top 20 Ranked Nursing Program in Texas by RegisteredNursing.org in 2018, and the program was named Best in Austin in the Statesman's Best of the Best Awards 2018.
