The Austin Community College District (ACC) will celebrate its summer and fall graduates during commencement 6 p.m. Friday, December 14, at Frank Erwin Center (1701 Red River St.).

The commencement ceremony honors students who have completed ACC’s associate degree, certificate, and high school equivalency programs for the 2018 summer and fall semesters. More than 3,100 students are invited to participate.
“This evening represents the culmination of hard work, commitment, and sacrifice,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “Our students leave ACC with a stronger foundation for a brighter future. We’ll celebrate their successes and their personal accomplishments and growth. It’s an inspiring evening, and my favorite moment of the year.”
The ceremony includes a tribute to graduating veterans, who are recognized with medallions in appreciation of their service.
Dr. Thomas Hatfield will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Hatfield served as the first president/CEO of Austin Community College from 1973 to 1977. The ACC Board of Trustees designated him president emeritus in 2017.
